One of the numerous talented quarterbacks on the Oregon Ducks’ roster is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal, as Pete Thamel reported on Monday afternoon.
Robby Ashford, who was a backup for the Ducks over the past season, is expected to try to find a new team where he has a better chance to play during the rest of his college career. Ashford spent two years at Oregon where he was a two-sport athlete, also playing for the Ducks’ baseball team.
Ashford was a 4-star dual-threat quarterback coming out of high school, ranked as the 290th best player in the 2019 recruiting class. After former Auburn QB Bo Nix transferred to Oregon, plus the expected emergence of Ty Thompson, it does not come as a surprise that Ashford would want to transfer.
