Oregon QB Bo Nix named a first-round option for Raiders

It is no secret that the Raiders are in the quarterback market once again this offseason. After striking out on Jimmy Garoppolo, it’s fair to wonder if the Raiders will use their top selection to pick a potential franchise quarterback.

Unfortunately, the Raiders are likely to miss out on the top three quarterbacks in this class due to picking at No. 13. It’s possible that they could make a trade-up, but they would likely need to get inside the top four picks just to select one of the three best quarterbacks in this class.

So that could lead to some interesting decisions in Round 1 for Las Vegas. In a recent mock draft by Pro Football Focus, they had the Raiders selecting Oregon QB Bo Nix as their first-round choice. Here is a snippet of why they believe he could be an option at No. 13:

The underwhelming Bo Nix we knew from Auburn seems long gone. Nowadays, Nix is seen as a good dual-threat athlete with a legit NFL arm. Most importantly, he’s playing much better under pressure, even if he isn’t pressured as often.

Nix scored 51 touchdowns (45 passing) during the 2023 season and had just three interceptions. He had a fantastic season and managed to raise his stock in a huge way.

It also doesn’t hurt that Nix has started over 50 games in his college career and should be ready to make an impact in the NFL right away. But is he worthy of the No. 13? We will get a good look at him during the Senior Bowl practices this week in Mobile.
