On Monday afternoon, Oregon Duck fans got to add some football celebration to their ongoing Memorial Day celebrations. 4-star safety Kodi DeCambra announced his commitment to play his college ball in Eugene.
While there’s been a feeling over the past several months that DeCambra was going to end up at Oregon, we now know it’s official. DeCambra is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 16 safety in the 2023 class, and the No. 255 player overall.
So what does that do to Oregon’s recruiting rankings in the nation as a whole?
According to 247Sports team rankings, the Ducks jumped up nearly 10 spots. They went into Monday sitting at No. 25 in the nation with 6 commitments. Now they move into the No. 16 spot, just ahead of Cincinnati and behind Iowa.
Oregon still sits at No. 3 in the Pac-12 recruiting rankings, trailing the USC Trojans (No. 9 in nation) and the Colorado Buffaloes (No. 14 in nation.)
With all of the momentum that the Ducks have on the recruiting trail at the moment, we can expect that number to rise before all is said and done as well. The month of June is expected to be massive for Oregon, as they will host a number of 5-star prospects including RB Richard Young, OT Kadyn Proctor, EDGE Jayden Wayne, and DL David Hicks.
