Oregon Ducks projected to miss out on coveted 5-star QB in 2023 class

A new recruiting projection has one of the best remaining QBs in the 2023 class passing on the Oregon Ducks.

A couple of days ago, the Oregon Ducks missed out on arguably their biggest quarterback target in the 2023 recruiting class, with 5-star Nico Iamaleava Jr. announcing his commitment to the Tennessee Volunteers.

While it is a bummer for Oregon fans to miss out on Iamaleava, who is the No. 4 QB in 2023 and the No. 7 player overall, there are still a number of QB prospects that the Ducks will be after. However, a recent prediction from On3’s Chad Simmons has one of those highly-rated prospects — 5-star QB Jaden Rashada — landing with Ole Miss, rather than the Ducks, as many Oregon fans would hope.

The recruitment for Rashada, who stands at 6-foot-4, 185 pounds, and is the No. 5 QB in the 2023 class, is believed to be between Ole Miss, Oregon, UCLA, Miami, and BYU. Now that Iamaleava is off of the board, the Ducks are expected to ramp up their recruitment for Rashada and try hard to get him to Eugene this spring and ultimately earn his commitment.
