Oregon Ducks pick up prediction to land 5-star safety in 2025 class

The Oregon Ducks have picked up a new prediction to land 5-star safety Jonah Williams over the Texas A&M Aggies.

The Oregon Ducks have certainly been hot on the recruiting trail lately, vaulting over 20 spots in the national rankings over the past week after a flurry of five commitments — including 5-star CB Dorian Brew — hit the streets of Eugene.

It doesn’t appear that they will be slowing down any time soon, either, with a number of other blue-chippers and 5-star prospects trending in favor of the Ducks and set to announce in the coming days and weeks.

On Tuesday, a massive recruiting projection came down the pipeline as well, with On3’s Justin Wells logging a prediction for Oregon to land 5-star safety Jonah Williams, the No. 1 safety and No. 7 overall player in the 2025 class.

The Ducks have certainly been in the mix for Williams for a long time, but it felt as of late that he was trending toward Texas A&M instead. Unlike most prospects, Williams is a high-level two-sport athlete, hoping to play baseball in college as well. The Aggies’ recent run to the College World Series final likely had some positive sway on him leaning towards College Station, but the Texas A&M head coach left to take the head coaching job at Texas last week, which will certainly impact things.

Does that mean that Williams is more likely to choose Oregon and their football/baseball combo? It certainly can’t hurt.

There currently is not a commitment date set yet for Williams, but we will continue to monitor this as it progresses.
