There were a myriad of reasons for Wisconsin’s early-season struggles, with a majority of them coming on the offensive side of the football.
Now that the Badgers have won five games in a row after starting 1-3, Wisconsin has a clear path to a Big Ten West title. Everything is in front of a team that looked lost to start the year, so what are the main reasons for such a drastic shift?
One stat that sums up a lot of Wisconsin’s changes? The Badgers are all of a sudden turning teams over, and capitalizing when they do.
In Wisconsin’s three losses, they only managed to score ten total points off of opponent turnovers. How about Wisconsin’s last three games? The Badgers have 48 total points off turnovers in those three wins.
Perhaps no half was a better example of the shift than the first half against Rutgers. Wisconsin led 31-3 at halftime with 21 of their 31 points coming off of takeaways.
