On this day, former Boston Celtic big man Raef LaFrentz was born, and Tom Boswell and Jerome Anderson were drafted

Boston also drafted power forward Tom Boswell, a 6-foot-9 big man out of South Carolina with the 17th overall pick.

Boswell would also win a ring with the Celtics at the end of the 1975-76 season, and would play a total of three seasons with the team.

 

He averaged 5.9 points, 3.9 boards and 0.4 assists per game with Boston, after which he left the team in free agency to join the Denver Nuggets.
