Olu Fashanu and Chop Robinson receive All-American honors

Olu Fashanu added two more All-American honors to his name on Monday, and Chop Robinson was honored too.

The postseason accolades were rolling in for a couple of Penn State’s top players on Monday. Offensive tackle [autotag]Olu Fashanu[/autotag] and defensive end [autotag]Chop Robinson[/autotag] each received multiple All-American honors from up to three different outlets.

Fashanu was named a first-team All-American by the Associated Press and a second-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America. Fashanu was previously named a first-team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation. Fashanu is now two All-American honors away form being a consensus All-American for the 2023 season. All he needs to do is appear on the All-American rosters released by the American Football Coaches Association and Sporting News.

In addition to Fashanu’s honors, Chop Robinson was named a third-team All-American by the AP.

Fashanu and Robinson are each expected to be potential first-round draft picks in the 2024 NFL draft. Fashanu was projected as a possible first-round pick in the 2023 draft if he chose to declare. His return for the 2023 season did him no harm and had some draft experts projecting him as a top-10 pick.

Robinson could still be a first-round pick with a good showing in the scouting combine, and perhaps at Penn State’s pro day event before the draft. Robinson has opted out of the upcoming Peach Bowl between Penn State and Ole Miss, which drew a funny reaction from Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin.
