Oklahoma’s Umoja Gibson had a big performance in Saturday’s win over No. 9 West Virginia that has earned him some big time recognition around the country.
Already named the NCAA Player of the Week earlier on Monday, Gibson was also tagged as the Big 12 Player of the Week as well as the Newcomer of the Week.

Gibson went for 29 big points on eight made three’s to help the Sooners score a win they really needed over the Mountaineers. He also added five rebounds and two assists on the afternoon.
Since transferring over from North Texas last offseason, he has done nothing but get slowly better and better with each passing game. Saturday was his breakout performance, and it will be simply enormous for Oklahoma if he can continue to play at a high level off of the bench.
He’ll look to keep the success rolling against No. 2 Baylor in Waco on Wednesday night.
