Oklahoma’s Rhamondre Stevenson named Reese’s Senior Bowl Senior of the Week

Oklahoma running back Rhamondre Stevenson was named Reese’s Senior Bowl Senior of the Week after his big night in Bedlam on Saturday.

Oklahoma crushed Bedlam rival Oklahoma State on Saturday by a wide final margin of 41-13.

The impressive performance was good enough for the Sooners to climb up to No. 14 in both the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports as well the AP Poll’s Top 25. Multiple players picked up individual accolades as well with Ronnie Perkins taking Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week along with Spencer Rattler taking both Big 12 Offense Player of the Week as well as Big 12 Newcomer of the Week.

Another man can now get added to the list of honors as running back Rhamondre Stevenson was named Reese’s Senior Bowl Senior of the Week.

Stevenson has been fantastic for Oklahoma since his return from suspension prior to the Texas Tech game, and he certainly was again Saturday. After a pretty quiet first half, he exploded in the final two quarters to raise his game total to 141 yards on the ground with 54 more picked up receiving.

It has been a different Sooner offense since he was inserted back in the lineup, going over 40 points in all three games with him while not doing that in regulation in any of the four Big 12 games prior to his return.

Him and the rest of the Oklahoma offense will be hoping to keep that success going into the final road trip of the season this week as they head to Morgantown for a Saturday night clash with West Virginia.
