Stop me if you’ve heard this before: Oklahoma just keeps winning and the Big 12 just keeps working out exactly in the Sooners’ favor.
It was not implausible, a few weeks ago, that by this point in the season Oklahoma would already have been eliminated from Big 12 contention. Instead, the Sooners have gotten some serious help from their two bitter rivals.
But Oklahoma isn’t out of the woods just yet. One sizable hurdle remains in the form of Oklahoma State, but a Bedlman win on November 21 would go a long way in catapulting the Sooners right back into the conversation for a Big 12 title, maybe even a playoff spot.
Oklahoma State still holds the top spot in the Big 12 standings, but Iowa State is tied for first while Oklahoma, Kansas State and Texas are tied for third.
There are still lots of shakeups remaining, but it’s pretty clear at this point which teams are playing for a Big 12 title this year, and which teams simply aren’t.
