After a strong season for the Oklahoma Sooners safety group, Brandon Hall added more talent to his ranks during the [autotag]early signing period[/autotag] with the addition of safety [autotag]Marcus Wimberly[/autotag].
Out of Bauxite, Arkansas, Wimberly ranks as the No. 37 safety in the [autotag]2025 recruiting class[/autotag], according to the 247Sports composite.
In addition to the offer from Oklahoma, Wimberly held notable offers from Arkansas, Ole Miss, Michigan, Oregon, SMU, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Utah.
Wimberly is a great athlete who played in all three phases for Bauxite, starring in a wildcat quarterback role. He showed off big-play potential with plus agility and speed. That athleticism will allow him the opportunity to be impactful in coverage responsibilities.
The Sooners plan to use him full-time on the defensive side of the ball and Wimberly will have a chance to make an impact at safety and cheetah in Zac Alley’s defense.
