Oklahoma RB Rhamondre Stevenson earns Big 12 weekly honor

Rhamondre Stevenson announced his return with three touchdowns Saturday earning himself Big 12 Co-Offensive Player of the Week.

Rhamondre Stevenson returned to action on Saturday night for the first time in nearly 11 months. He announced his return with authority, punching in three touchdowns in the first half to help Oklahoma blow out Texas Tech in Lubbock.

After the third, he lifted his jersey to reveal a t-shirt underneath that simply read “I’m Back,” and it is hard to argue with that statement since the performance has earned him the honor of Big 12 Co-Offensive Player of the Week alongside Oklahoma State’s Tylan Wallace.

Along with the three touchdowns, Rhamondre also had 87 yards on the ground in just 13 carries.

Having Stevenson back is obviously huge for Oklahoma, as he both adds a new dimension to the run game with his size while also providing a depth that they simply haven’t had this season without him.

The Sooners will get back to action next on Saturday afternoon in Norman against the Kansas Jayhawks.
