Oklahoma quarterback was one of the bigger perceived snubs on the All-Big 12 teams that were announced last week. He made his opinion known on Twitter of how he felt about not being named as a top two signal-caller in the conference.
Pro Football Focus has provided some validation to those frustrations, as he was named the Big 12 Player of the Year by them on Wednesday.

In his first year as the starter for the Sooners, Rattler has completed 200 of his 294 passes for 2,784 yards and 25 touchdowns. That also includes an obvious uptick in improved play down the stretch of the season – a key reason for Oklahoma’s seven-game winning streak to end the year.
For a point of reference, Rattler has thrown for more yards and more touchdowns than Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy and for more yards and the same number of touchdowns as Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger. Those were the two players selected above him for the All-Big 12 teams.
Rattler will look to continue his successful first year as starter when the Sooners head back down to Arlington to face Florida in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl next Wednesday night.
