Oklahoma offers 2026 defensive lineman Preston Carey

Oklahoma offers 2026 defensive lineman Preston Carey. Still years away from his signing day, the New Yorker is already a coveted prospect across the nation.

Oklahoma has offered 2026 defensive lineman Preston Carey out of East Northport, New York. He attends St. Anthony’s High School and is already racking up a healthy offer sheet.

Carey is massive for his class, standing 6 feet, 5 inches and weighing 280 pounds on the defensive line ahead of his sophomore year. His recruitment is going to heat up but he already has 20 Power Five offers.

Notable offers have come from Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M. This list is going to grow before Carey gets to his signing day.

Carey is another example of this Oklahoma staff’s heavy emphasis on the defensive line. Ted Roof and Brent Venables want the Sooners to mirror the types of defenses Venables has produced during his tenure as a defensive coordinator.

The speed, athleticism and strength Carey exhibits at his age is years ahead of where he should be. Based on the tape alone, he’s going to be a force as he gets older. You can see why college coaches are already salivating at his potential to be a game-wrecker for their teams at the next level.

Venables and his recruiting staff are doing strong work on the recruiting trail recently. Though it’s incredibly early in Carey’s recruitment, getting in on the ground floor will give them a shot at a player that projects as a blue-chip prospect in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
