Oklahoma moves up one spot in AP Poll Top 25 to No. 12

Oklahoma moves up one spot to No. 12 in the AP Poll Top 25 following another unexpected bye week.

Oklahoma had another unexpected week off this weekend after their game with West Virginia was called off for a second time this season. The game is canceled this time rather than just a postponement, as it won’t be made up this season at any time.

Despite not playing, the Sooners did make a slight jump up in the AP Poll Top 25 to No. 12 thanks to Miami’s blowout loss to North Carolina.

Remaining at the No. 1 spot is Alabama after they decimated Arkansas on Saturday in Fayetteville.

The rest of the top five also remains untouched with Notre Dame, Ohio State, Clemson and Texas A&M filling in spots two through five.

There are two other Big 12 teams in the rankings with Iowa State at No. 8 and Texas at No. 21. Oklahoma State is just on the outside looking in as the top team receiving votes that isn’t in the group of 25.

Next up for Oklahoma will be the Big 12 Championship Game and a rematch with the No. 8 Cyclones in Arlington.
