Oklahoma, Iowa State rout its rivals in this week in the Big 12

The much-anticipated week of reckoning in the Big 12 has come and gone, and the games were just as decisive as advertised.

The much-anticipated week of reckoning in the Big 12 has come and gone, and the games were just as decisive as advertised, though not nearly as exciting. What looked like a pair of key rivalry games turned into a pair of ugly blowouts as the Sooners and Cyclones rolled easily on Saturday.

With the win, Iowa State all-but clinches a spot in the Big 12 championship game.. The Cyclones have just two games remaining, on the road at Texas and at home against West Virginia. Iowa State would need to lose both games to remove themselves from contention, but a loss to Texas could eliminate them pending tiebreakers.

Meanwhile, Oklahoma moves into a three-way tie for second-place alongside Oklahoma State and Texas. This group is particularly notable because the Sooners hold head-to-head victories over both teams. So long as the Sooners remain tied with these teams, they have a clear path to the conference championship game.
