Oklahoma basketball will play Alabama in 2021 SEC/Challenge

Oklahoma Sooners basketball will be hosting Alabama at the Lloyd Noble Center for the 2021 Big 12/SEC Challenge.

The 2020-2021 college basketball season is approaching quickly and now the schedule is beginning to take shape.

Non-conference play will surely look a little different this season, but one thing that is here to say is the annual Big 12/SEC Challenge that takes place right in the heart of conference games in late January.

For this year’s installment, Oklahoma will host the Alabama Crimson Tide at the Lloyd Noble Center on Saturday, January 30th.

The two teams have met eight times previously with the Sooners holding a 5-3 series advantage. The most recent contest came in the 2018 Big 12/SEC  Challenge when future lottery picks Collin Sexton and Trae Young matched up, with the Crimson Tide bringing home the win in Tuscaloosa.

Oklahoma is 5-2 in the Big 12/SEC Challenge, and holds an 11-5 overall record against schools in the SEC at the time of competition since Lon Kruger took over as head coach.

The season is expected to begin in late November, with a full schedule being released soon.
