It is said that the positive test should not affect the season opener for the Sooners, which is set to take place in Norman in less than two weeks on Nov. 25th.
Per Aber’s report, Oklahoma moved to individualized workouts this week but did not do a complete shutdown. He was unable to get confirmation from an OU spokesman on the positive test.
This will obviously be something to keep a very close eye on going forward. It seems inevitable that teams will miss games this season due to the nature of the sport of basketball, but getting the season started on the right foot feels paramount for college basketball to get off the ground. Just today, the Ivy League canceled their basketball season and all winter sports entirely.

If football is missing games on a somewhat regular basis, it stands to reason basketball will as well with the lower roster total and quicker turnaround between games.
For now, the Sooners’ season opener is still set for Nov. 25th at home against UTSA.
