Oklahoma basketball announced a home-and-home series with Florida that will take place over the next two seasons.

With the first game in Norman this upcoming season, it will be the first time the two schools have squared up against each other since the Sooners’ 65-60 win in November of 2018 as part of the ‘Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis’.

Christian James led the Sooners with 18 points with Jamuni McNeece and Rashard Odomes both supplementing the Oklahoma offense with 11 points each. The win was Oklahoma’s first win over Florida in program history as the Gators lead the all-time series 2-1.

The two schools share a history with Lon Kruger. Kruger was the head coach for the Gators from 1990 to 1996 and took Florida to the 1994 Final Four and a 108-40 record in Gainesville.

With the scheduling, the Sooners are set to face three SEC opponents in the 202-21 season. A ‘border battle’ with Arkansas in Tulsa and playing host to another SEC opponent as part of the SEC/Big12 Challenge in January will make up the other two SEC games.

Under Kruger, the Sooners are 13-9 against SEC opponents.
