Fresh off of a magical run to the College World Series, Skip Johnson and the Oklahoma Sooners are on the recruiting trail looking to bolster their roster in 2024. Looking to continue his playing career on both the gridiron and the diamond, the Sooners are providing that opportunity to 2024 five-star quarterback and OU target [autotag]D.J. Lagway[/autotag].
Lagway received an offer from Brent Venables and the Oklahoma Football Program back in April and now has his baseball offer from Manager Skip Johnson.
Lagway has also received offers to play baseball from Texas A&M and LSU in addition to the who’s who list that has offered him a football scholarship.
After a great conversation with @CoachJohnsonOU blessed to have the opportunity to play BOTH, football and baseball!!! @OU_Baseball x @OU_Football pic.twitter.com/VpQnubQf2U

Lagway is the No. 4 quarterback in both the 247Sports composite ranking and the On3 consensus rankings.
The Oklahoma Sooners have successfully navigated the two-sport star in the past, most notably with Kyler Murray, who was a top 10 pick in the MLB draft by the Oakland A’s and eventually the No. 1 overall pick by the Arizona Cardinals.
Oklahoma’s looking to pull off the feat with D.J. Lagway who’s a priority quarterback target for the 2024 class.
