OKC Thunder news: Team to hold first Thunder Legacy Network event this weekend

Several former Thunder players are expected to attend Friday’s home game against the Detroit Pistons.

The Oklahoma City Thunder announced on Thursday that the franchise plans on holding its first Thunder Legacy Network weekend this upcoming Friday through Sunday. Several former Thunder players are expected to attend and speak during Friday’s game against the Detroit Pistons.

“At the Thunder, we speak often about the fact that our players, both present and past, are inspiring forces to shaping our identity and integral members of our community,” Thunder Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti said.
“The Thunder Legacy initiative welcomes back our former players and provides them with a connection point of recognition, while also providing them critical resources such as health screenings and continued community engagement. If you play for the Thunder for one game or your entire career, we want people to feel like they are always welcome back home and you are as much a part of our future legacy as our history.”
The Thunder Legacy Network was created in 2020 and gives former players the platform to talk with current players about post-career opportunities.
