Ohio State women’s basketball adds Kentucky transfer

The Ohio State women’s basketball team has been rather active in the transfer portal this season. The Buckeyes added Duke guard Celeste Taylor and Michigan State forward Taiyier Parks to already boost the talent level on the roster this offseason, and now there’s another addition.

Kentucky guard Kennedy Cambridge on Wednesday committed to Ohio State after entering the transfer portal after just one season with the Wildcats where she averaged 2.7 points and 2.3 rebounds in 19 games during her freshman season. In other words, she will still be a work in progress for the Buckeyes as she continues to develop her game in the Big Ten.

And as a 4-star prospect coming out of high school, there’s no reason to believe that she could be part of a significant future for the Buckeye women.

With what OSU has coming back, there are several preseason predictions that have the Buckeyes as a top ten to top five type program when looking at the crystal ball for the 2023-2024 season. The additions Ohio State has made via the transfer portal can only enhance those views.
