The Big Ten has Los Angeles as a new market and a new destination for road games, beginning in 2024. A new era of Big Ten and college football history began in a very real way on Thursday, when we all learned which Big Ten teams will play USC and UCLA in conference games starting next year. USC and UCLA will spend the 2023 season playing in the Pac-12, but their current recruiting efforts for the 2024 and 2025 cycles are, in point of fact, genuine preparations for Big Ten Conference seasons.
The team at Buckeyes Wire is adjusting to the reality that Ohio State will visit Los Angeles for conference games starting next year, but USC is not the opponent in 2024. It’s those guys over in Westwood.
Phil Harrison of Buckeyes Wire has more:
“Divisions are gone. Officially. And while the Buckeyes will still play the teams you’ve been accustomed to seeing in 2024 and beyond, it will travel to UCLA next year while also hosting Iowa. There will not be a matchup against USC in year one, something everyone most likely wanted to see between the two schools. Instead, Michigan and Iowa will travel to play the men of Troy, while USC will play at Penn State. Ohio State does host the Trojans in 2025.”
