Despite being disposed of twice this season by the Purdue Boilermakers, Ohio State is a 1.5 point favorite in today’s quarterfinal matchup of the Big Ten Tournament according to BetMGM.

To be fair, both games from this season were close, with the Boilermakers winning the first meeting in West Lafayette by a score of 67-60, and then winning the return to Columbus by a count of 67-65. In other words, if the Buckeyes can score more than 67 points, they’ll win.
OK. So clearly it’s not that simple, but there is reason to believe Ohio State can pull this one off. OSU’s loss early in the year to the Boilermakers was before it found its identity, and the second one was in the bag, then handed away because of poor play down the stretch.
There’s a good chance this thing will come down to the wire again because — well, that’s how things have gone in the Big Ten, and whichever team can win the war of attrition will earn itself a spot in the tournament semifinals.
Here’s to a good game, but one that has a winning scarlet and gray flavor to it.
