Today marks the first day of camp for the 2024 Ohio State football team and every fan is eagerly waiting for the season opener against Akron on August 31. Until then, we will be getting daily little nuggets of news to keep us entertained.
One of the biggest stories coming out day one was the body transformation made by Kansas State transfer, Will Howard. The quarterback position is going to be a battle this season and Howard will be completing with Devin Brown to take that first snap.
Ohio State head coach, Ryan Day, made a point of commenting on the changes Howard has made since his arrival to Columbus, Ohio.
“He looks different, he’s moving different. He worked hard on that. Changed his diet, changed his workout plan and dedicated himself in the offseason, and you’re seeing that right now,” Day said. “Now he has to sustain that throughout the season. I don’t know what he weighed in today, but he’s moving well for his size. He certainly lost some weight, but then put on some good weight.”
This could be a major sign pointing towards Howard as the starter, but we’ll have to wait and see how it all unfolds.
After Day 1, Ohio State coach Ryan Day praised QB Will Howard for the work he put in this offseason. "He got challenged (to change his body). He looks different, he's moving different. He worked hard on that, changed his diet, changed his workout plan and dedicated himself."
