What are rivalries if you can’t have a little fun? Only problem is: only one side is having fun right now.

At Michigan, Jim Harbaugh is 0-5 against the rival Buckeyes, and many of the Wolverines faithful have been on edge — understandably so. Ohio State is about to take part in the college football national championship while the maize and blue just finished up a 2-4 season. They appear to be programs heading in different directions.

So, naturally, when The Detroit News’ Angelique Chengelis and The Athletic’s Nick Baumgarder reported that Michigan and Harbaugh are nearing a contract extension, Ohio State found its own way to take a jab, liking a tweet by Bleacher Report noting the news.

Bleacher Report noticed that Ohio State’s football Twitter liked the tweet, as shown above. But Ohio State took it yet another step further, memeing running back Trey Sermon smirking from the broadcast of the OSU Sugar Bowl win over Clemson.

The only way to get the better of the rival and it taking jabs is to beat the rival. With the report that Harbaugh is receiving a more incentive-laden, lower base salary contract, while assuredly money will motivate him that much more to beat the Buckeyes, getting the better of the bragging rights in situations like these would also satiate that desire.
