Ohio State basketball’s updated ESPN game-by-game win probabilities for remainder of season

After four games in the books, we take a look at game-by-game win probabilities for the rest of the Ohio State 2020 basketball schedule.

We went through this exercise just after the Ohio State basketball season tipped off, and now that we’re four games in, we’re at it again. ESPN has a matchup predictor for each game on its website that provides the win probability using its BPI (Basketball Percentage Index). Now that there are some more data points that have gone into it, things have changed a wee-bit.

The Big Ten is expected to be a monster this year and any team in the conference is going to be in for a Donnybrook each night out on the court, so even a mediocre record will look great in the eyes of the selection committee. The Bucks are off to a 4-0 start after a solid win on the road against Notre Dame and that means ESPN has been right thus far.

Also, don’t forget that OSU’s game against Alabama A&M was canceled due to a rise in coronavirus cases there, so instead of the Buckeyes starting the year 5-0, it’s sitting at 4-0.

We all know it won’t last though, but it’s still fun to look at. So, here is the updated game-by-game win probabilities for each of Ohio State basketball’s remaining schedule with a running win-loss record included.
