The regular season is over for the Big Ten basketball team, and it was quite the roller coaster. Things started out great with a 9-0 start, hit a major skid in January, then rebounded in February and beyond by winning nine of its last twelve.
The slide at the turn of the year was enough to knock the Buckeyes out of the regular-season Big Ten title race, but they rebounded enough to be solidly in the NCAA Tournament field.
But first things first — there’s the Big Ten Tournament to try and make some noise in. Ohio State received a No. 7 seed because of tiebreakers and will take on No. 11 seed Purdue Thursday. It should be a whale of a tournament with more than a handful of teams capable of cutting down the nets in Indy — OSU among them.
According to the online betting site BetMGM, Ohio State is tied with Iowa and Penn State as having the fifth-best odds to win the tourney at +800. So who does it favor? You can probably guess the answer to that. Michigan State with its late-season surge is tied with Maryland as the betting favorite atย +350, followed by Wisconsin (+400), and Michigan (+600).
