Ohio State basketball stays undefeated by beating Purdue Fort Wayne

The Ohio State basketball team crushed the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons to improve to 5-0 Friday night.

The Ohio State basketball team put it on the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons Friday night 85-46 to run its record to 5-0.

The scoring started early and continued right throughout with a lot of Buckeyes getting in on the act as head coach Chris Holtmann emptied the bench in the second half.

Purdue Fort Wayne began the game with some decent shooting of its own to keep things tight in the first few minutes, but the floodgates opened up soon enough. Ohio State went into the break up 42-25 and never looked back.

Junior forward Kaleb Wesson led the Buckeyes with 15 points and 7 rebounds on 4-9 shooting. Freshman point guard D.J. Carton chipped in 13 points and had a couple of highlight reel plays once again. C.J. walker was the only other Buckeye in double figures with 11 points, but 11 of 13 Ohio State players got in the scoring column.

Senior guard Marcus Deberry led the Mastodons with 16 points.

The Buckeyes will next be in action Monday against the Kent State.
