The Ohio State basketball team has been on a tear as of late, winning its last five of six games to catapult all the way up to fourth place in the Big Ten. However, there’s still a lot of work to do if OSU wants to position itself well for the postseason. Michigan is trying to run away with the league title, but second place is still in reach, and if the Wolverines were to stumble coming out of a COVID-19 shutdown, the Buckeyes could be right there if they keep playing well and putting games up in the win column.
Next up on that journey is a surprisingly mediocre Michigan State team, at least by recent standards. The Spartans dealt with coronavirus issues of their own and have not looked anywhere near the team everyone thought they’d be this season. In fact, Tom Izzo’s crew sits at 8-5 overall, and just 2-5 in the league.
In their first return since the pause, Michigan State looked out of sync and perplexed, losing to Rutgers 67-37. Based on what we’ve seen then, it should be no surprise that BetMGM has made Ohio State a solid 7.5 favorite over the Spartans for Sunday’s contest.

As a word of caution, OSU head coach Chris Holtmann would tell you to beware of this MSU squad. It still has more than enough talent to turn things around, is a wounded bunch looking to make a statement. Izzo will have thie crew playing much better than what we saw Thursday night.
