The last time the USA TODAY Sports Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll came out, Ohio State was just outside the top 25 in the “others receiving votes” section. But then it had a mighty fine week. The Buckeyes upset No. 1 Duke in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge last Tuesday right after the polls came out, then followed that up with a win on the road vs. Penn State on Sunday.
And … as a result, Ohio State went from the outside looking in, back into the poll at No. 22 according to the coaches that vote on these sort of things.
The Buckeyes still have a way to go to climb up into the top fifteen, and will hopefully be fixing their eyes on a top ten that consists of newly ranked No. 1 Purdue, followed by Baylor (2), Duke (3), UCLA (4), Gonzaga (5), Villanova (6), Kansas (7), Arizona (8), Alabama (9), and Arkansas (10).

If it weren’t for last-minute shots, OSU would be undefeated and further up the rankings as well. The Buckeyes lost to both Xavier and Florida in games away from home that both came down to the wire.
This week, Ohio State faces Townson on Wednesday, then hosts No. 17 Wisconsin on Saturday.
