Ohio State basketball finally cracks top ten in Associated Press Top 25 poll

Ohio State jumped six spots in the latest AP Poll and has made its way into the top ten. See how far the Buckeyes vaulted.

The Ohio State basketball team is playing well right now. In fact, the Buckeyes have put together an impressive January stretch, altogether winning six of eight games played this past month. And the two losses coming by a combined total of only five points.

The AP voters took notice this week and vaulted OSU all the way up to No. 7 in the national rankings. That’s a six-spot jump from last week’s No. 13 ranking.

The road doesn’t get any easier for Ohio State. They will only play one game this week, but it is against an Iowa Hawkeye team that is sitting directly behind them at No. 8 in the AP poll. The Hawkeyes and the Buckeyes are currently tied for third place in the Big Ten standings.

Oklahoma joins Ohio State as newcomers to the AP top ten this week. The current top ten is as follows: Gonzaga (1), Baylor (2), Villanova (3), Michigan (4), Houston (5), Texas (6), Ohio State (7), Iowa (8), Oklahoma (9), and Alabama (10).

Ohio State takes the court on Thursday at 7 pm EST in Iowa City. Here’s what the rest of the top 25 looks like.
