Ohio State basketball beats Cleveland State. Three Things.

The Ohio State basketball team escaped a close call against Cleveland State to remain undefeated. Here are three things we observed.

C.J. Walker is the calming presence

Cleveland State would have pulled off a shocker if not for guard C.J. Walker. Every time it seemed like the Vikings were close to reeling things back in, it seemed like Walker would dribble-drive for a finish at the rim, or get Ohio State into a good shot opportunity with his calming presence and running of the show.

His sixteen points were huge in this one, but when he got them was even bigger. More than that, his ability to more or less handle some pretty aggressive pressure defense was key in winning the turnover battle that was huge in this one. Ohio State looked sloppy, but it could have been a lot worse.

Walker is the general on the floor, and I have a feeling there are going to be times when he’ll be called upon for even more scoring in the not-too-distant future. But, good job in this one.
