Florida football is still looking to put the final touches on its 2024 recruiting class heading into the upcoming campaign.
Among those coveted by Billy Napier and Co. is four-star offensive lineman [autotag]Jordan Seaton[/autotag] out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, who recently set his official visit date with the Orange and Blue for Sept. 16, according to On3’s Chadd Simmons. That is the same day that the Gators host the Tennessee Volunteers in the Swamp.
The 6-foot-5-inch, 295-pound trench warrior is originally from Washington D.C. but transferred ahead of his senior year to the popular powerhouse program. Unlike some of his peers in the 2024 cycle, he has taken his time making the decision on which school he wants to play for in college.
“Right now, my process is pretty vanilla,” Seaton told On3 at IMG Academy’s pro day. “I’m just trying to figure things out, what’s real and what’s not. I don’t want to rush it and end up in the transfer portal. I’m taking things slow and trying to make every move precise. That’s what I’m big on. If I had to put a finger on it — don’t count nobody out.”
The blue-chip lineman also has scheduled official visits with the LSU Tigers (Sept. 9), Oklahoma Sooners (Sept. 30), Ohio State Buckeyes (Oct. 6), Oregon Ducks (Nov. 10) and South Carolina Gamecocks (Nov. 18) in addition to his stop in Gainesville. Seaton has made just one official visit so far with the Alabama Crimson Tide back in June and will visit them again on Oct. 21.
As far as the Gators are concerned, Florida’s system that employs a pair of offensive line coaches appeals greatly to the top prospect.
“Coach Stapleton and Sale, they’re like a one-two punch,” he said. “It’s kind of amazing being able to have that system — one guy may be busy or have to do something, but you still got the other assistants there to help out. They’re hands-on, and that’s what you need. That’s really good.”
Seaton is ranked No. 39 overall and No. 1 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 38 and 2, respectively. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has Ohio State in the lead for his commitment with a 64.3% chance of landing him, followed by Florida (12.2%), Alabama (3.0%) and Oklahoma (2.5%).
