The NFL has released the official 2021 NFL Draft order for next month’s big event — and it offers us a glimpse at what the Dolphins can officially expect to plan for as things currently stand. That’s a big stipulation: the Dolphins are likely going to find themselves wheeling and dealing up and down the draft board depending on which players the team finds themselves taken with.
The Dolphins currently find themselves with a top-heavy draft distribution. The team owns two of the top-20 selections, four of the top-50 selections and five in the top-100. That’s the good news. But the Dolphins only own one choice between No. 82 and No. 231 — so if the Dolphins are looking for added opportunities to build up the bottom of their roster, they’ll likely be in the market for trading down and adding extra selections to allow them to draft by volume once again in 201.
