One day removed from the Super Bowl oddsmakers are already looking ahead to next year’s big game. They don’t think the Jets should be, however.
New York Jets was forced to watch from afar Sunday as the Chiefs hoisted the Lombardi Trophy in Miami. Now, just one day after Super Bowl LIV, NFL franchises aren’t the only ones scurrying to hit the reset button.
BetMGM released its preliminary odds for the winners of Super Bowl LV on Monday. In unsurprising news, oddsmakers are not ready to put their faith in Gang Green just yet.
New York is tied for the third-worst odds in the NFL at +8000 entering the offseason. Sharing identical fortunes are the Cardinals, Lions, Jaguars and Giants.
The Jets aren’t the only AFC East team to face an uphill battle, though. Miami is tied for the second-worst odds with the Cincinnati Bengals at +10000. The worst odds to headline the offseason? The Washington Redskins at +15000.
Gang Green’s remaining division rivals aren’t entering next year with the same question marks and holes to fill. As a result, the Patriots (+1100) and Bills (+3500) benefit from more favorable odds.
Still, the reigning champs don’t just have this year’s Lombardi to brag about. Kansas City also holds the best odds to win it all again next year at +650.
To round out the top-five, the Chiefs are followed by the Ravens (+700), 49ers (+1000), Patriots (+1100) and Saints (+1200) with the best odds to become Super Bowl champs next season.
