Ochai Agbaji to withdraw from NBA draft, return to Kansas

Agbaji earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors last season after averaging 14.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 blocks.

Kansas Jayhawks guard Ochai Agbaji will reportedly withdraw from the NBA draft and return to school for his senior season, according to Jonathan Givony of ESPN.

Agbaji earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors last season after averaging 14.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 blocks in 30 games. His 2.6 made 3-pointers per game led the Big 12 while his 37.7 shooting percentage from beyond the arc was fourth.

The 6-foot-5 guard was projected by some to be a second-round pick but he will now have the opportunity to improve that draft stock with a strong showing next season with Kansas. He could earn first-round consideration with another productive season in college.

Players have until Wednesday at 11:59 p.m. EST to withdraw from the NBA draft and maintain their collegiate eligibility.

The return of Agbaji should give the Jayhawks a huge boost in the lineup. He has emerged as a strong 3-and-D prospect and could be in contention for several end-of-season conference awards. In addition to Agbaji, Kansas also returns Jalen Wilson and David McCormack from the NBA draft.
