The Denver Nuggets have recalled two-way rookie center Bol Bol after four games played with the Windy City Bulls of the G League, the team announced.
Since the Nuggets do not have a direct affiliate in the G League, Bol was assigned to play with Windy City. Bol is averaging 11.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game with the Bulls.
The 7-foot-2 center turned in his best performance of the season on Wednesday after recording his first double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
As Harrison Wind of DNVR Sports speculated on Twitter, the move was likely made to evaluate Bol after his four-game stint with the Bulls. Bol showed no signs of any lingering injury issues, which is certainly encouraging after undergoing foot surgery in January.
The Nuggets recalling Bol Bol from the G League is simply the next step in Denver’s plan for the rookie. Bol got four games in over the last week and stayed healthy. Now the Nuggets can have their staff and team doctors check up on him. (Bol had foot surgery in January.)

The Nuggets first assigned Bol to Windy City on Nov. 11 prior to his debut on Nov. 15, in which he recorded eight points, nine rebounds and four blocks in 18 minutes of work. Bol is said to be on a restriction of about 20 minutes per game — he is averaging 17 minutes per game.
Bol has not yet made his debut with the Nuggets.
