Notre Dame’s First Round Draft Picks Since 2000

Since the year 2000 Notre Dame has had 11 players taken in the first round of the NFL Draft and they weren’t all recruited to Notre Dame by him but all but two of those players played under Brian Kelly.

It’s insane to see the talent-level improve as this list goes on.  It makes you wonder yet again what the heck was actually happening during the Davie, Willingham and some of the Weis years.

You can (and I will) argue that no player has been better at their position than Zack Martin since he was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 2014.  A tackle at Notre Dame, all Martin, the former Second Team All-American has done in the pros is play in 94 of 96 games in his six seasons at a new position and record a Pro Bowl and All-Pro appearance in all six of them.

He was recently named to the NFL’s All-Decade Team as an offensive guard.  He’s the best in the league today at the position and doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon.  See you in Canton one day, Mr. Martin.
