Notre Dame’s First Round Draft Picks Since 2000

Since the year 2000 Notre Dame has had 11 players taken in the first round of the NFL Draft and they weren’t all recruited to Notre Dame by him but all but two of those players played under Brian Kelly. 

It’s insane to see the talent-level improve as this list goes on.  It makes you wonder yet again what the heck was actually happening during the Davie, Willingham and some of the Weis years.

Brady Quinn, Quarterback – 22nd overall to Cleveland Browns, 2007

Quinn is remembered for getting stuck in the NFL Draft green room for literally hours in 2007 before the Browns snagged him at 22.  Unfortunately things didn’t go as plan for Quinn in the NFL as he started just 20 games in his career and went 4-16 in those games.

He floated around the league through 2013 making stops in Denver, Kansas City, Seattle, St. Louis and with the New York Jets along the way and has become quite the successful broadcaster since calling it a career in football.
