Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard came to the Fighting Irish as a dual-threat transfer from Duke. He struggled to pass the ball in the first two weeks and while he’s passed it better in week 3 against the Purdue Boilermakers, he’s doing all the scoring damage with his legs.
He has run for three of the Irish’s four touchdowns in the first half. This one was a 13-yard run that ended a 10-play, 77-yard drive that took 4:54 off the clock. There was 2:10 left in the first half, and Mitch Jeter nailed another extra point to make it 28-0.
Notre Dame looks different, at least through one half, than the team that faceplanted against Northern Illinois just a week ago.
