Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard still doesn’t have a touchdown pass, but he has another rushing touchdown. This one has given the Fighting Irish a 14-0 lead over Purdue with 1:53 remaining in the first quarter.
The 3-yard run was the capper for an 11-play, 82-yard drive that took 5:43 off the clock. Notre Dame mixed plays well and moved the ball effectively.
Another Mitch Jeter extra-point attempt made the score 14-0.
Notre Dame has a lot to answer for on offense after struggling in a gritty win over Texas A&M and during the failure against Northern Illinois. So far, the offense has looked much better, though fans still await the first Notre Dame touchdown pass from Leonard.
