Notre Dame’s 31-13 win over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets wasn’t enough to move the Fighting Irish up in the AP Top 25 poll.
Nor did the Irish slide down. Notre Dame remains at No. 12.
Most of the movement is in the Top 5. Oregon moves up one spot to No. 1, while former No. 1 Texas drops four spots to No. 5 after falling to Georgia 30-15. Speaking of Georgia, the Bulldogs jump three spots to No. 2 after the win over Texas.
Two teams that were idle this week — Penn State and Ohio State — remain in the No. 3 and No. 4 spots.
The rest of the top 10 is Miami (Florida), Tennessee, LSU, Clemson, and Iowa State. The big mover there is Tennessee, which jumps four spots after beating Alabama. Iowa State dropped a spot despite beating UCF.
Big movers up or down include Alabama, which drops 8 spots to No. 15 after the loss at Tennessee, and Indiana, which moves up three spots after defeating Nebraska.
Notre Dame fans will note that not only are USC and Michigan not in this week’s Top 25, neither one even got a vote.
