Notre Dame moves up one spot in AP Top 25 Poll

Notre Dame is now number three in the AP Top 25

Notre Dame sits at No. 3 in the AP Top 25 Poll as the College Football Playoff field has been set.

Despite that, the Fighting Irish got the seventh seed in the CFP field. That’s partly because as an independent, Notre Dame could do no better than the fifth seed. Still, the Irish have a home game against Indiana.

The top five is Oregon, Georgia, Notre Dame, Texas and Penn State. Ohio State, Tennessee, Boise State, Indiana and Arizona State round out the top 10.

Major movers include Clemson and Army, both up five spots, and UNLV, which dropped five spots. SMU slid four places after losing a tight one to Clemson in the ACC Championship.

Georgia moves up three after an overtime victory against Texas in the SEC Championship.
