Notre Dame football has an early start in its 2025 recruiting class, it’s so good that it currently is the top group according to the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings.
In order to remain at the top of the list, the Irish will need to continue to add more talented players to the current 15 commits. One of those targets is New Jersey defensive end [autotag]Darren Ikinnagbon[/autotag]. The 6-foot, 5-inch and 251-pound edge rusher narrowed his list down to eight schools on Wednesday evening, with Notre Dame making the cut.
It should be noted that with the inclusion of Rutgers and Duke on Ikinnabon’s list, academics will play a big part into his decision. That’s great news for the Irish, as they have one of the best mixes, if not the best, of athletics and academics in the country.
