Notre Dame loses a cornerback to the transfer portal

The Irish lose depth at cornerback

It’s a big odd that there would be news about a transfer in the middle of spring practice, but that is what happened to Notre Dame football on Friday.

Cornerback [autotag]Clarence Lewis[/autotag], a senior from New Jersey, has entered to portal as we learned from multiple sources on Friday afternoon. The 5-foot, 11-inch and 196-pound member of the secondary had started numerous games for the Irish over his carer.

Lewis best season came in 2021, when he had 53 tackles, a sack, forced a fumble and picked off a pass. The Irish will lose depth and experience as they bid farewell to the corner.

With one year of eligibility remaining, it will be interesting to see where Lewis lands, but we wish him the best wherever it is.
