Notre Dame Football Well Represented on ESPN’s Top 150 Coaches List

Knute Rockne was the highest former Fighting Irish coach to make the list, coming in at three. He trails only Paul Bryant and Nick Saban on the list.

No. 15 Ara Parseghian

In yet another case of a career ending at an age where you’d think a prime is just being entered, Ara Parseghian checks in on the list at No. 15.

Responsible for one of my favorite facts in college football history – Parseghian never lost to Notre Dame while the coach of Northwestern (4-0) and never lost to Northwestern while at Notre Dame (9-0).

He won championships in 1966 and 1973 before retiring in 1974 at the age of just 51. He went an absurd 95-17-4 in his 11 seasons at Notre Dame.
