The only Notre Dame coach to make the list despite not winning a title with the Irish, Kelly’s run at Grand Valley State previous to winning conference championships with Central Michigan and Cincinnati before taking the Notre Dame job.
In the previous 10 years to Kelly’s arrival at Notre Dame the Irish went 70-52 (.573) while Kelly has gone 91-37 (.711). He’s missed a bowl appearance just once while Notre Dame missed the post season four times in those ten previous seasons.

Say what you want about the lack of a national title under Kelly, Notre Dame’s standards have undoubtedly increased significantly under his watch.
