Notre Dame football: Watch Julian Love’s high school highlight tape

He was great before he got on campus!

To age myself – when I was in high school it was all about highlight tapes.  For you youngsters out there (shout out Steve Stone), there were these things called VHS tapes and they could only be viewed on a VCR.

I saw the news that former Notre Dame All-American[autotag] Julian Love[/autotag] had his high school jersey number 20 retired this weekend at Nazareth Academy in the Chicago suburbs.  I remember Love not being an overly highly regarded recruit so I wondered what his high school tape looked like.  Alright, it wasn’t tape, it was his Hudl highlights.

Regardless, his highlights from his senior year certainly don’t look like those of the 477th best player in the country like the 247Sports composite rankings claimed.

Anyway, check out Love’s highlights below that happen to come against a few Illinois high school football power houses like Joliet Catholic (twice), Marian Central Catholic, and Marist among plenty of others.

Love was drafted by the New York Giants in 2019 and played with them through last season.  He signed a free agent deal with the Seattle Seahawks this off-season.
